Finca El Jardin
Finca El Jardin Finca El Jardin
Luis Fernando Rubio’s mother Rosa Ines Rubio, purchased Finca El Jardin in 1986. As a struggling single mother, she purchased the farm in hopes to provide for her son and his future.

These circumstances lit a flame inside Luis that will never burn out. He is motivated to succeed and is always innovating to improve his craft. Luis has completely vertically integrated from farm to cup on his 10 acres of land.

He has managed to produce amazing Catuai and Caturra coffee beans, process them on his own wetmill, dry them on his own raised African beds that he built, mill in his own bodega, roast on his 50lbs coffee roaster he made from scratch with 2 of his friends (mind blown), cup in his lab and sell to the Nicaraguan market under his brand 'Don Luis', named afer his grandfather.

We couldn’t be happier and more excited about our alliance and the future of our relationship.

There are some moments we like to remember fondly like day we day we first found ourselves in Finca El Jardin during the summer of 2006 (a time when we could travel freely), we arrived amidst the zenith of the sun and sought shade under a canopy as we began to sip the soothing nectar.

A satisfyingly sweet combination of winey tart acidity with chocolate and pleasant mild berry notes that we were never quite able to shake from memory.

Once you taste it for yourself, you'll agree why this effusively fine example of a washed Nicaraguan has a lustrous mouthfeel and is a comfortable cup of coffee to pick up enjoy anytime you like.
